I just finished GIMP'ing my art trade but dA won't upload it because it's a xcf file. But I don't want to change the file type because it won't save the layers...WTF DO I DO?

It must by the GIMP equivilent of a PSD file.
Here's what you should do. Save one file as the xcf and then save it again as a jpeg under a different name. Like 'LOLDOODART1.xcf' and then 'LOLDOODART2.jpeg' Or something along those lines.
I already figured out what to do. I made a copy of the picture with a file type compatible with dA and kept the original as a XCF file. T'is why you are able to gaze in wonder at my newest picture.
